Winter Activities in Beaver Creek

Outdoor Adventures

Skiing & Riding With endless powder days that bring snow measured in the tens of yards deep every year and an average of 275 days of sunshine a year, Beaver Creek and Vail  provide some of the best skiing and riding terrain in the world. Beaver Creek offers everything from gentle groomers to the famed Birds of Prey World Cup course. Nearby Vail offers over 5,000 acres and a whopping seven back bowls of endless terrain that are consistently rated the top in the country. And, because The Osprey is the closest hotel to a lift in all of North America, the famed terrain is, quite literally, footsteps from your door. Your dream run is waiting.

Snowshoeing and Nordic Skiing In the mountains of Beaver Creek, a dedicated snowshoe and cross-country ski area called McCoy Park provides a vast array of terrain for exploring the grandeur and peacefulness of the high country that rises from the front door of The Osprey. Thirty-two kilometers of beginner, intermediate, and advanced tracked and rustic trails are accessed by the Strawberry Park Express lift, just out our back door, which whisks you to McCoy Park from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. every day. The last download is 3:45 p.m.

In addition to the terrain at McCoy Park, backcountry tours leave from Golden Peak in Vail. A variety of half-day and full-day tours are available, as well as lessons, rental equipment and retail shops. Customized Nordic programs can also be arranged to meet any groups' unique needs.
